Internet Explorer surpasses Netscape Navigator

According to International Data Corporation (IDC), Internet Explorer surpassed Netscape Navigator in browser marketshare for the first in June, with 48.3% of the market, compared to 41.5% for Netscape. Microsoft's share includes America Online (AOL) users, however, which themselves account for 16% of all browser users. If AOL users weren't included, Netscape would beat IE handily, 41.5% to 32%. And indeed, there is some reason to question these figures since AOL users can't choose their browser: IE is integrated into the AOL interface
