Gateway, NEC first to jump to Netscape

Gateway and NEC are the first PC manufacturers to take advantage of the temporary injunction against Microsoft; the two companies are now planning on offering customers buying Windows 98 PCs the possibility of installing Netscape Navigator. Previously, hardware companies feared reprisals from Microsoft if they licensed other browser software but the company's recent legal problems have made some a bit bolder. Expect other hardware companies to follow along soon
