DirectX 6.0 now available (sort of)

Don't ever accuse Microsoft of making--er ah, missing--a deadline: DirectX 6.0 shipped right on schedule, so to speak, by not including a couple of features that were promised for this release. Think of it as a new, kinder and gentler Microsoft.

OK, enough sarcasm. There's still plenty to like about DirectX 6.0 and point releases throughout the remainder of the year will fill in any missing features. Currently, you can order DirectX 6.0 on CDROM from the DirectX home page. A free download is expected soon
