Clarifications from Thursday's DOJ story

Numerous readers mentioned that Microsoft is prohibited from forcing OEMs to bundle Internet Explorer with Windows 95; they are not, however, prohibited from bundling the two products per se. These readers are, of course, correct: I apologize if I confused that issue.

Also, the following sentence from yesterday's WinInfo is incorrect (for two reasons): "...Microsoft is now barred from bundling Internet Explorer with Windows 98." One, for the reason expressed in the previous paragraph, and two, that should read "Windows 95," not "Windows 98." The issue of Windows 98 is still unresolved.

OK, sorry about the confusion! I kind of rushed that story out because it was so important, but I should have been more careful for the same reason.
