Windows XP Program Compatibility

One of Windows XP's best features is its program compatibility. This feature lets you easily run applications that work on only Windows 2000, Windows NT 4.0, Windows Me, or Windows 9x. To automatically set program compatibility on XP, you can use application information that the XP system database stores. Alternatively, you can use the Program Compatibility Wizard to manually set program compatibility for each application. To start the Program Compatibility Wizard, click Start and select All Programs, Accessories, Program Compatibility Wizard. Yet another alternative for manually setting program compatibility is to right-click an application shortcut and select the Compatibility tab.
