Q. When you drag a group of icons over the Windows Explorer task pane in Windows XP the display is corrupted?

Using Windows XP, dragging a group of icons over the task pane of a Windows Explorer window causes the display to become corrupted.

To workaround this behavior, you can press F5 to redraw the display, or turn on the Show window contents while dragging option:

1. Start / Run / sysdm.cpl / OK.

2. Select the Advanced tab in the System Properties dialog.

3. Press the Settings button in the Performance area.

4. Check the Show window contents while dragging box on the Visual Effects tab.

5. Press Apply.

6. Press OK.

7. Press OK.
