Microsoft to support VRML 2.0

Microsoft is expected to announce new partnerships and 3D technologies at this week's "World Movers VRML 2.0 Developers Conference" in San Francisco. Microsoft will announce a licensing deal with Intervista Software that will integrate the Intervista WorldView VRML client into Internet Explorer. Also, Microsoft has licensed the Liquid Reality Viewer from Dimension X. Liquid Reality is a Java-based VRML 2.0 tool for building 3D Internet applications. Beta versions of both products will be released this week. In a related development, Microsoft will hand over its implementation of VRML 2.0 to the VRML Consortium. Microsoft reference implementation will be used by VRML developers to create their own applications
