Microsoft Internet Studio becomes Visual InterDev

Microsoft changed the name of Internet Studio to Visual InterDev this week and announced a public beta that SiteBuilder members can download from the Microsoft Web site. Guest members will be able to get it too, but the process is a little painful. The download is about 54 Mb and can be completed with a single, mammoth file, or by downloading 11 smaller files. Thanks to WinInfo subscriber William L. Ricci for the tip. According to PC Week, Microsoft is integrating all of their Web design and development tools under Visual InterDev. The article, linked below, also notes that this tool moves the company, surprising, closer to a non-proprietary paradigm, since the applications you create with Visual InterDev work on virtually any Web browser
