This behavior may occur because of timing issue.
To workaround this behavior, perform the following tasks in sequence, until the mouse is detected:
- Unplug the USB mouse from the USB hub and plug it back into the hub..
- Restart your Windows XP computer.
- Plug the mouse directly into the computer.
- Start / Run / Devmgmt.msc / OK and expand Universal Serial Bus controllers. If an exclamation mark is present, troubleshoot the hub.

- Hardware and software vendor contact information, L-P.
- Hardware and software vendor contact information, Q-Z.
