JSI Tip 9171. Windows XP does not detect a USB mouse that is connected to a USB 2.0 hub?

This behavior may occur because of timing issue.

To workaround this behavior, perform the following tasks in sequence, until the mouse is detected:

  • Unplug the USB mouse from the USB hub and plug it back into the hub..

  • Restart your Windows XP computer.

  • Plug the mouse directly into the computer.

  • Start / Run / Devmgmt.msc / OK and expand Universal Serial Bus controllers. If an exclamation mark is present, troubleshoot the hub.

If you need to contact your motherboard manufacturer: NOTE See USB 2.0 Support in Windows XP: High Speed at Last.
