JSI Tip 9096. How can I use the registry to override the font size on a Web page?

I first described overriding the Internet Explorer font size in tip 5221 » How can I override the font size on a Web page, using Internet Explorer?

Using REG.EXE on Windows 2000, from the Windows 2000 Support Tools, or REG.EXE built into Windows XP, Windows Server 2003, and later operating systems, I have scripted UseMyFontSize.bat to allow View / Text Size, or holding the CTRL key as you scroll the mouse wheel, to override font sizes used on Web pages.

The syntax for using UseMyFontSize.bat is:

call UseMyFontSize

UseMyFontSize.bat contains:

@echo off
set key="HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Settings"
call :quiet>nul 2>&1
goto :EOF
reg add %key% /V "Always Use My Font Size" /T REG_DWORD /F /D 1
