When you resume from STANDBY, the first character you type is NOT processed.
The behavior may occur if you use the No keyboard repeat FilterKeys option.
To workaround this behavior, use the Slow down keyboard repeat rates FilterKeys option instead:
1. Start / Run / access.cpl / OK.
2. Select the Keyboard tab.
3. Check the Use FilterKeys box and press the FilterKeys Settings button.
4. Select the Ignore quick keystrokes and slow down the repeat rate radial button and press the Settings button.
5. Select the Slow down keyboard repeat rates radial button.
6. Optionally, alter the Repeat delay and Repeat rate.
7. Press OK, OK, Apply, and OK.
