When you use Windows Media Player, or a 3rd-party DVD player, to play a full-screen movie, Windows XP plays it in a single color.
This behavior can occur if you have a semi-transparent window in the upper-left corner of your desktop.
NOTE: Any program, like the IME (Input Method Editor) input bar, that use a semi-transparent interface in the upper-left hand corner of the desktop will exhibit this behavior.
To workaround this behavior, move the semi-transparent interface away from the upper-left corner of the desktop prior to playing a DVD movie.
