When you visit Windows Update, or http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/moviemaker/downloads/moviemaker2.asp, Movie Maker may not be upgraded to Movie Maker 2.
If setup fails to replace some dynamic link library files and the Moviemk.exe file, you will experience this behavior.
To workaround this problem:
1. Exit Movie Maker, if it is running.
2. Use Windows Explorer to navigate to the %SystemRoot%\RegisteredPackages\\{60BFF50D-FB2C-4498-A577-C9548C390BB9\} folder.
3. Copy the files to the %ProgramFiles%\Movie Maker folder. If prompted, press Yes to confirm.
4. Right-click the %ProgramFiles%\Movie Maker\Mm20ex.inf file and press Install.
