The subject problem is generally the result of using an MP3 file with a low bit rate. If you save the movie as a DV-AVI NTSC file, the skip / hesitation is particularly noticeable.
To determine the bit rate of an audio file:
1. Right-click the file in Windows Explorer and press Properties.
2. Select the Summary tab and press Advanced.
3. The bit rate is displayed in the Audio section.
To workaround this problem, use either of the following:
- Use an MP3 file with a higher bit rate.
- Use a Windows Media Audio (WMA) file.
NOTE: Typical bit rates are 64 Kbps, 96 Kbps, 128 Kbps, or 160 Kbps. Higher bit rates use lower compression and require more disk space.
