If you experience the subject problem, try the following:
1. Insert the Windows XP CD-ROM.
2. Open a command prompt.
3. Type xcopy <CD-ROM:>\I386\*.* c:\i386\*.* /s /e and press Enter, where <CD-ROM:> is the drive letter of your CD-ROM or DVD-ROM drive.
4. Close all windows.
5. Start / Run / C:\i386\winnt32.exe / OK.
NOTE: If this procedure does not fix the problem, you need a replacement Windows XP CD-ROM:
- In the United States, call Microsoft at (800) 360-7561, Monday - Friday, 5:00 A.M. - 7:00 P.M. Pacific time.
- In Canada, call (800) 933-4750, Monday - Friday, 5:00 A.M. - 7:00 P.M. Pacific time.
