JSI Tip 5791. How do I stop Windows XP Explorer from auto-expanding trees?

If you wish to prevent Windows Explorer from automatically expanding a tree view:

1. Copy / Paste the following to a DAET.reg file:

REGEDIT4

\[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Explorer\Advanced\]
"FriendlyTree"=dword:00000000

2. Merge the DAET.reg file with your registry or run regedit /s DAET.reg.

3. Log off and log on for this setting to take effect.
