JSI Tip 5216. Suppressing CD-ROM AutoRun in Windows XP may prevent Explorer from refreshing when you change CDs?

A number of readers have reported that setting AutoRun to 0 in Windows XP, prevents Explorer.exe from refreshing it's display of CD-ROM content when you press View / Refresh.

I have been unable to re-created this behavior, so other unidentified factors must be involved.

If you experience this behavior:

1. Set AutoRun to 1.

2. suppress Media Change Notification.

3. Shutdown and restart Windows XP.

When you change CD-ROM media, press View / Refresh to update the Explorer.exe display.
