If you logged on to your Windows XP computer using a local user profile, and subsequently were configured for a roaming profile, you must proactively switch your profile to roaming:
1. Start / Control Panel / \[Performance and Maintenance\] / System.
2. Select the Advanced tab.
3. Press Settings in the User Profiles area.
4. Select the domain profile that you want to change.
5. Press the Change Type button.
6. Press Roaming profile.
7. Press OK, OK, and OK.
