JSI Tip 4497. Windows XP can group similar taskbar buttons?

Windows XP can cause the taskbar icons for applications opened with the same program to be grouped together. If you open a Word document, an Excel spread sheet, another Word document, Notepad, and another Word document, grouping similar taskbar buttons would show the 3 Word icons together, instead of the default order, the sequence of opening the applications. To group similar taskbar icons:

1. Right-click the Taskbar and press Properties.

2. Select the Taskbar tab.

3. Check the Group similar taskbar buttons box.

4. Press Apply and OK.
