JSI Tip 4321. How can I alter the number of workstations that an ordinary user can add to a Windows 2000 domain?

All users have the right to add up to 10 workstations to a Windows 2000 domain.

If you wish to alter this number, from 0 - nn...nn workstations, use ADSIEdit.msc from the Support Tools:

1. Run ADSIEdit.msc.

2. Expand the Domain .... record.

3. Right-click your DC=... record and press Properties. Example: DC=JSIINC,DC=COM.

4. Using the Optional properties, select ms-DS-MachineAccountQuota.

5. Type your quota into Edit Attribute and press Set, Apply, and OK.
