JSI Tip 4228. When you access a DFS link through the local file system, you receive 'Access is denied'?

When you attempt to access a DFS link through the local file system, you receive:

<Drive:>\Folder\DFSLINKFOLDER is not accessible. Access is denied.

Windows 2000 uses local file system placeholders below the shared DFS root, to represent DFS links. The local file system can NOT access these placeholders.

To workaround this issue, access the shared resource through the server's share.
