JSI Tip 3706. DNS DatabaseNodeMemory counter in System Monitor indicates possible memory leak?

When you use System Monitor, to inspect DNS memory usage, the DatabaseNodeMemory is constantly increasing. This is normally a sure sign of a memory leak.

A bug in the performance library causes released DNS memory to increase, instead of decrease, the DatabaseNodeMemory counter.

To monitor DNS memory usage, use the Private Bytes counter for DNS.EXE, which reports the total memory usage for DNS, including code and DNS data.
