JSI Tip 2821. Your Windows 2000 can't resolve a host name using DNS?

You can use an IP address and perform a Nslookup, but you can't resolve a host name using DNS?

Windows 2000 requires that the DHCP Client service be running, even if you use static IP addresses.

The DHCP Client is configured with Automatic Startup, by default. If you set the service Startup to Manual or Disabled, you must reset it to Automatic.

NOTE: Dynamic DNS registration also requires the DHCP Client.
