On your Windows XP computer running SP2 (Service Pack 2), you configure your network connection to NOT notify you when there is limited or no connectivity:
1. | In Network Connections, right-click Local Area Connection and press Properties. |
2. | Clear the Notify me when this connection has limited or no connectivity box. |
3. | Press OK. |
When Windows XP SP2 loses network connectivity, you receive notification that the connection has limited or no connectivity.
To workaround this behavior:
1. | Right-click the Start button and press Properties. |
2. | Select the Taskbar tab. |
3. | Check the Hide inactive icons box and press Customize. |
4. | Under Current Items, select Local Area Connection A network cable is unplugged. |
5. | In the Behavior list, select Always hide. |
6. | Press OK and OK. |
