Citrix Systems announced plans to aid in recovery efforts in the aftermath of the terrorist attacks on the United States. The company will give $250,000 to benefit the Uniformed Firefighters Association Widow's and Children's Fund and the New York City Patrolmen's Benevolent Association. In addition, the company has already provided the New York Chapter of the American Red Cross with end-user software licenses for Citrix MetaFrame and committed to providing additional licenses as needed during the next 12 months. The company also sent Citrix system engineers and server hardware to New York.
Earlier last week, company employees provided financial contributions and blood donations through the Aid to America Campaign. To support and encourage these efforts, John Cunningham, senior vice president of operations and chief financial officer (CFO), enhanced the company's charitable contribution matching grants, doubling the amount the company will match for employee contributions made to this cause. Jo Moskowitz, manager of community relations for Citrix, anticipates that Citrix employees in the United States will use the matching grant program to donate about $250,000 to the Aid to America Campaign.
