Q. Can Nano Server run 32-bit applications?
A. No. While Server with Desktop Experience and Server Core installation options of Windows Server 2016 can run 32-bit code through the windows-on-windows (WOW) sub-system, this is not present on Nano Server which means only 64-bit applications can run. Note that since Windows Server 2008 R2 the server OS has been 64-bit only.
