Q: Are there any alternate touch shells for Windows 7?

A: Many aspects of Windows 7 have been made touch friendly, including Internet Explorer 9 and Windows Media Player, and the OS has features for great touch-enabled applications.

Windows 8 will have a new, touch-based Start experience, but there are several alternate third-party touch shells available for Windows 7. Two of the major ones, which certainly warrant a look, are Thinix MyMashup and Rainmeter.
