ComponentOne Adds Microsoft Silverlight Support

ComponentOne Adds Microsoft Silverlight Support

ComponentOne announced its Studio (code named Sapphire) for Microsoft Silverlight. This suite of controls targets the Microsoft Silverlight 1.1 platform and enables developers to create highly interactive, high fidelity User Interface (UI) applications for the Web. The product will be released on the same day as the release of Microsoft Silverlight 1.1.

Sapphire is a complete Rich Internet Applications (RIA) toolset for Silverlight, and includes basic UI controls such as buttons, containers, date/time, lists, sliders, and text, as well as powerful grid, chart, and schedule controls. Each control leverages Microsoft s Extensible Application Markup Language (XAML) technology and the powerful graphics and design features found in the new Microsoft Expression Studio, a suite of products to fully support skins, graphics, and animation.

Sapphire leverages ComponentOne s Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF) component technology and presentation framework, which delivers consistent and stable performance, and offers the flexibility to build reusable controls.

The alpha version of Sapphire and Silverlight 1.1 can be explored through ComponentOne Labs http://labs.componentone.com/sapphire, a source for access to emerging technologies from ComponentOne. Labs present informative content, useful samples and demos, and a glimpse of upcoming products. New content will frequently be posted for .NET tools and platforms, such as Silverlight and Windows Presentation Foundation (WPF), along with ComponentOne Help Authoring and Content Solutions.
