Web Server Enhancement Tool Available
Helicon Tech announced LinkFreeze 1.1, a Web server enhancement tool for Windows 95/98/ME/NT/2000/XP/2003.
Many webmasters are dependent on dynamic links for their sites to be efficient. Dynamic links are used for forums, e-catalogs, news, and other frequently updated Web site sections. However, search engines either completely ignore these pages or grant them low page rank, which results in little or no search engine visibility.
LinkFreeze substitutes "bad" characters, like "?", "&", and "=". For example, after processing with LinkFreeze, www.yoursite.com/somepage.asp?param=val may look something like www.yoursite.com/somepage~param~val.asp.
LinkFreeze modifies links before a server sends a response to the client and rewrites URLs back when they go to the server. Link optimization is done with a simple GUI (there is no scripting or text configuration) and may be applied only to parts of a Web site.
