Q. Which Windows Server Hyper-V guests support dynamic memory?

A. Dynamic memory is commonly associated with Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1. However, being at this version of the OS is only required for the Hyper-V host itself.

Any enlightened Hyper-V guest can enjoy the benefits of dynamic memory, as long as the guest has the Hyper-V Integration Services installed. On the server side, these guests include Server 2008, Server 2008 R2, Server 2003, and Server 2003 R2, in both 32-bit and 64-bit versions. On the desktop side, Windows 7 and Windows in both Enterprise and Ultimate Editions (both 32-bit and 64-bit) can use dynamic memory as Hyper-V guests.
