A: Microsoft has a vm2dmp tool that takes a Hyper-V virtual machine (VM) current or saved state and creates a memory dump file that can then be used with debugging tools.
The utility can be downloaded from the MSDN page "Microsoft Hyper-V VM State to Memory Dump Converter." The page also offers examples and help on usage. Typically you won't use this tool unless asked to by support teams or if you're performing your own debugging.
