Q. I'm upgrading from VMware Infrastructure 3.X to vSphere 4. What edition can I legally upgrade to?

A. VMware quietly modified some of its editions as part of its vSphere 4 release. This means that the edition of the software you’ll get when you upgrade isn’t entirely clear. Refer to this handy table as a reference between the VMware Infrastructure 3.X licenses you already have (on the left) and their corresponding vSphere 4 licenses you’ll get when you upgrade.
