New Hotfix Fixes Sluggish System Center Data Protection Manager Console

If you've already rolled out Update Rollup 5 for System Center Data Protection Manager 2012 R2, you might be one of the many customers experiencing a sluggish console. Most times the console shows to just be performing extra slowly, but then sometimes it will just become unresponsive altogether.

It's not uncommon, in fact it's now come to be expected, that customers have to be extra careful deploying updates from Microsoft. With each set of items an update fixes, it tends to break other things. Microsoft has been good about going back and repairing additional issues it introduces, but it would still be nice to be able to trust the company's first attempt.

To fix the sluggish console issue for DPM, Microsoft has now released a hotfix. The hotfix is only for those that have UR5 installed, so if you already have a slow console and running an earlier version, yours is a different problem.

Here's where you can obtain the hotfix: Hotfix for known issue with Update Rollup 5 for System Center 2012 R2 Data Protection Manager
