Microsoft Invests in Finjan, Licenses Software Patents

Security software and appliance maker Finjan Software announced that Microsoft made an equity investment in the company and negotiated a worldwide licensed to its security software patents.

Kenneth Lustig, Managing Director of Intellectual Property Business Development of Microsoft said, “Finjan has done some interesting product innovation in the security space. We are pleased to have access to this intellectual property as we work to advance the state of security innovation throughout the industry.” 

Just last week Finjan replaced its chairman, chief executive officer, and founder Schlomo Touboul. Touboul founded Finjan in 1996 then left the company in 1998 and returned in late 2001. Touboul was replaced by Asher Polani, who was previously Deputy General Manager ESG at Hewlett Packard Israel.
