Identity Theft Ring Discovered

Sunbelt Software uncovered an identity theft ring. Sunbelt CEO Alex Eckelberry said that ring was discovered by senior researcher Patrick Jordan, who joined the company a week ago.

In a message posted to his blog, Eckelberry said the discovery represents thousands of pages of private and personal information of both individuals and businesses, including bank account information. One of businesses' bank account contained over $350,000. Sunbelt is now with the FBI on the case.

Sunbelt produces a variety of software, including the CounterSpy anti-spyware solution.
