In addition to delivering eight security updates today, Microsoft has also issued a fix for an update it released in 2014 that caused Internet Explorer 9 to stop working.
The offending update, MS14-080, was submitted during the December 2014 Patch Tuesday and customers immediately started reporting that Internet Explorer 9 stopped working.
Microsoft has now made a fix available for Windows 7 SP1, Windows Server 2008 SP1, and Windows Server 2008 SP2 users. The fix requires that 3008923 be installed first, otherwise the update could cause additional problems with Internet Explorer.
The update and more information can be found here: Internet Explorer 9 stops working after you install update 3008923 in Windows
