Create a table by importing existing data

  1. Click the New button and double-click Import Table. The Wizard will step you through the process.
  2. When you are asked to find the database—you may not even see it unless you choose the appropriate file type from the Files of type drop-down list.

    Access Import table dialog box

  3. Pay attention to each step and follow instructions carefully. The only potential trick is when you are asked to set a primary key. The default is that Access will create a primary key for you. If your data has a natural key, select it instead.
