Create or open a database: Access 2000

  • When you start Access 2000, the Microsoft Access dialog box appears.

Simply choose whether to start with a blank database, a Database Wizard, or an existing database.  Then click OK.

This dialog box appears only when you open Access.  Once Access is open, you can get the same options using any one of the following three options:

  • Choose File → Open to open an existing database.
  • To create a new, blank database, choose File ? New and, on the General tab double-click the Database icon.
  • To create a new database using a wizard, choose File ? New and click the Databases tab.  Double-click the wizard of your choice to create a database.
