TechEd 2005 - Day Three

I spent most of Wednesday in the SQL Server track cabana as a representative of PASS (www.sqlpass.org).  I had the pleasure of hanging out with others from the PASS board of directors and volunteers such as Trey Johnson, Rich Heigis, Rushabh Mehta, and Louis Davidson.  Rick keeps a blog at http://www.sqljunkies.com/WebLog/rheiges/default.aspx and Rushabh keeps one at http://solidqualitylearning/blogs/rushabh.

Wednesday night also saw the Best of TechEd award show.  There were several categories and all nominees were of exceptional quality and value.  As a database guy, I was most interested in the Database Development track.  The winner this year was Red Gate Software’s SQL Developer Bundle, an excellent product indeed and quite affordable too.  Other nominees in this category included Embarcadero’s DBArtisan and (my own product) Quest Software’s Quest Central for SQL Server.  You can read all about it at http://www.windowsitpro.com/Windows/Article/ArticleID/46702/46702.html.
