Microsoft has selected Information Builders as a Universal Data Access (UDA) partner to provide complementary and approved technology for enhancing Microsoft’s enterprise-wide data access strategy. UDA is Microsoft’s strategy for providing enterprise access to information residing in various data sources and applications and on different platforms. Microsoft Data Access Components (MDAC)—which consist of the latest ODBC, OLE DB, and ADO versions—also facilitates universal access. Information Builders enhances these components through its middleware connectors, which extend MDAC access to relational, nonrelational, enterprise resource planning (ERP), and application-level data in more than 85 proprietary database files and structures on 35 platforms.
