Detecting and Monitoring Database Threats

New security appliance for cloud providers and virtualized data centers

DB Networks has launched the database industry’s first behavioral analysis-based core intrusion detection system (IDS) virtual appliance to detect advanced database threats. The IDS-6300v virtual appliance provides continuous monitoring of the database tier network to:

  • detect advanced, highly obfuscated, SQL injection attacks
  • discover databases
  • identify SQL-generation coding flaws that can lead to breaches

While based on the industry’s first core IDS platform from DB Networks, this new solution reportedly offers key benefits of:

  • reducing hardware costs
  • easing management
  • optimizing resource utilization

With this launch, cloud providers would theoretically be able to more easily deliver new security SaaS offerings based on DB Networks’ patented behavioral analysis technology for comprehensive SQL injection intrusion detection and defense.
