Infragistics Announces NetAdvantage for .NET 2008 Volume 1
Infragistics, a producer of presentation layer development tools, announced the availability of Infragistics NetAdvantage for .NET 2008 Volume 1. Compatible with Microsoft Visual Studio 2008, this new release includes toolsets for both ASP.NET and Windows Forms, and gives developers the tools to create user experiences in line-of-business applications on the desktop and on the Web. This product suite includes NetAdvantage for ASP.NET 8.1 and NetAdvantage for Windows Forms.
NetAdvantage for ASP.NET 8.1, code named Project Aikido, is Infragistics next generation of the product built from the ground up around Microsoft s ASP.NET AJAX Framework. Infragistics newly built tools are designed to leverage modern Web development technologies and techniques, such as XHTML, CSS, and AJAX.
NetAdvantage for ASP.NET 8.1 offers three new components expressly for the new architecture. WebDialogWindow replicates the functionality of a traditional standard Windows Forms dialog window; WebImageViewer allows developers to add image display capabilities to their Web applications; and WebSplitter simulates the familiar splitter user interface found in many modern Smart Client applications and allows an end user to control the layout of their workspace. The WebData Grid is still available as a CTP (Community Technology Preview).
