Microsoft’s patching woes know no bounds. This year has been a bad one for the company. Each month the company has released a series of security and non-security updates, only to have some of them redacted due to quality problems.
December is no exception. Shortly after an update for Outlook 2010 was delivered, it had to be recalled. Ironically, the patch that was intended to keep Outlook 2010 from starting in “Safe Mode” caused Outlook 2010 to start in “Safe Mode.”
The updated version of this fix is now available. It’s available through Windows Update or mechanisms that use WSUS. The KB article is: KB3114560
