How can I gain access to Inetkit Library when I use BackOffice Server 4.5 on a Windows 2000 Server?

A. You can install BackOffice Server (BOS) 4.5 on a Win2K Server using the BackOffice Server 4.5 Readiness Kit for Win2K Server. However, after you install BOS 4.5 using the Intranet Collaboration Scenario, users might have problems accessing resources on the local intranet site.

After users go to the servername/inetkit site and click Library on the toolbar, they're prompted to type their logon credentials. When they type their user name and password, the same dialog box might appear again. After they type their credentials three times, the system displays the following error message:

You are not authorized to view this page

You do not have permission to view this directory or page using the credentials you supplied.

This behavior occurs when users don't have Log on Locally permissions within the domain. To resolve this problem, follow these steps to give users Log on Locally permissions:

 1. Click Start, Programs, Administrative Tools, Domain Controller Security Policy.
 2. Expand Security Settings, expand Local Policies, and click User Rights Assignment.
 3. In the right window pane, double-click Log on Locally. Add the appropriate users. Make sure users log off and log back on before they try to access the intranet site again.
