Q: How can I stop using Office Upload Center with OneDrive?

A: By default, the Office Upload Center is used to edit Office documents for Office extensions. This is a good option if you need to have multiple users editing the same document, in a co-authoring scenario. If you don't need this capability and would prefer for the OneDrive sync engine to handle Office document synchronization, uninstall the Microsoft SkyDrive application from your machine. Then restart the OneDrive engine using the following code:

skydrive /shutdown

If this doesn't work, you can try the following:

  1. Navigate to \%localappdata%\microsoft\windows\skydrive\settings\.
  2. Back up the global.ini file.
  3. Edit global.ini and remove the partner line that looks like:
    partner = {14286318-B6CF-49A1-81FC-D74AD94902F9} 
  4. Make sure the delegatedSyncPartnerInteractionDisabled setting is set to false; that is:
    delegatedSyncPartnerInteractionDisabled = false
  5. Save the file.
  6. Restart Skydrive.
