Patch Tuesday: Hotfixes Released to Fix December Form Controls Issue in Office Products

After installing MS14-082 in December some users experienced issues with VBA projects that use forms controls. Now, as part of the March security update rollout, Microsoft has released a few hotfixes to finally address the problem in Office 2007, 2010, and 2013.

Those using Office 365 and Office 2013 Click-to-Run installations only need to trigger an update or an online repair to get the hotfixes to install. Those with earlier versions and those that have an Office installation using the legacy-based (MSI) installation you will need to install each update provided for the particular Office version. Additionally, if you have multiple versions of Office products installed for some reason, you'll need to update each version with a separate hotfix.

Microsoft has now posted guidance and links to the specific hotfixes here: Form Controls stop working after December 2014 Updates (Updated March 10, 2015)
