“People get Office 365, they get email, SharePoint, and they never even notice that there’s a SharePoint store,” said Joe Herres, executive VP of technology at H3. He was demoing H3’s latest mobile SharePoint solution, Mobile Entrée 365. “There’s so much value from Office 365 and the app store.”
You’ll find Mobile Entrée 365 at the Office 365 app store, where it’s available starting today for $1.49 per user per month. It offers access to SharePoint from all major smartphones and tablets, including Android, Apple, and Windows devices.
It’s not surprising that Office 365 has enabled businesses to get access to enterprise technology via the cloud. But what’s interesting is how it’s enabled savvy vendors such as H3 to get their apps to market. “A lot of big ISVs haven’t embraced the app model as much,” Herres said. “Office 365 for us is a fantastic vehicle.”
Besides enabling users to access SharePoint from their mobile devices, Mobile Entrée 365 provides customization and branding as well as a full suite of developer tools, mobile collaboration, and mobile search. Users can access mobile-optimized tools such as documents, tasks and announcements, as well as features not available through SharePoint’s default mobile interface such as discussion boards and intuitive calendar views.
