PowerWEB LiveControls for ASP.NET 1.4 Available
Dart released their latest version of PowerWEB LiveControls for ASP.NET, a library of 21 AJAX-enabled server controls that allow ASP.NET developers to build Web applications without writing client script or using plug-ins.
PowerWEB LiveControls acts as a replacement for many standard ASP.NET controls that ship with Visual Studio, but it doesn t initiate a full page PostBack that causes Web pages to be redrawn. Unlike writing AJAX applications from scratch, using LiveControls doesn t require the developer to write and debug complex JavaScript. PowerWEB LiveControls for ASP.NET is designed to take advantage of the key features that make ASP.NET and Visual Studio such powerful rapid application development tools. To enable callbacks from any ASP.NET application, simply drag and drop any LiveControl onto a WebForm and add code-behind, just like a standard ASP.NET control. Microsoft Help 2.0 integration, with comprehensive F1 support, tutorials, and samples are included to help get developers up and running. Browser compatibility and down-level browser support is also included.
Web applications that can benefit from this technology include inventory or asset management systems that require switching between item details, financial applications that periodically update price and news information, dynamic data entry forms that guide users by reacting to their input, and polling applications that show live statistics rather than just a snapshot of a point in time.
