Microsoft says that it now plans to ship at least one million Xbox 360 video game consoles to customers each month going forward. The new schedule calls for a doubling of the current output, and the software giant believes it will be able to catch up with demand by the middle of this year as a result. Previously, Microsoft said it expected to ship as many as 5 million Xbox 360 consoles by the end of June 2006. So far this year, the company has shipped 1.5 million consoles worldwide. Microsoft's erstwhile competitor, the Sony PlayStation 3, was recently delayed until November 2006, so Microsoft can use the intervening time to build a healthy lead
