Microsoft Ships IE 7 Beta 2 for 2003, x64, XP

On Monday, Microsoft shipped the beta 2 version of Internet Explorer (IE) 7, which is available now for Windows Server 2003 Service Pack 1 (SP1), Windows XP x64 Edition, and XP SP2. Microsoft is so sure of this new release that it's providing free phone support and will provide customers with a "seamless" upgrade path to the final IE 7 version, which is due in late 2006. Additionally, Microsoft will include a version of IE 7 in Windows Vista. That version will feature unique functionality such as Protected Mode and integration with Vista's parental controls. Hey, Microsoft has to come up with some reason for you to upgrade
